Holtzhausen Clocks, Watches and Music Boxes was established in 1974 as Tick Tock Time in Johannesburg by my late father, advocate Nic Holtzhausen. To this day our company manufactures handmade rare hardwood clock cases and trades globally in contemporary and antique grandfather clocks, wall and mantel clocks, music boxes and Rolex wristwatches of the highest quality only. Holtzhausen is one of only a few clock companies in the world who has the depth of experience and love of clocks to deal responsibly with both new and antique clocks. This also explains why our company has sole agency for Kieninger clocks of Germany, Howard Miller clocks of Michigan, Reuge Music Boxes of Switzerland and serves as the South African representative of the British Horological Institute since 2009. Herman Holtzhausen, son of founder Nic Holtzhausen, directs manufacturing, importing, exporting, marketing, trade and after-sales.

Herman holds that the family business is their Southern Cross: "Our product evokes a sense of stillness, respect and celebration of life. These are the values we aim at for ourselves, our customers, their friends and all of our unborn descendants - generations into the future."

Holtzhausen Clocks, Watches and Music Boxes is a Trade Associate and the SA Representative of the British Horological Institute; also a member of the National Antiques and Decorative Arts Association; Holtzhausen supports Antiques are Green in their antique trading.
